Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that delivers the result. Union County Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries. A message sent to us contains the information in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, page requests, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those services are used.
How Limited Data Is Used
Limited visit data helps operate the service, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell a list of visitors or create profiles of individual readers.
Outside Services and Links
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search services have their own policies. Their terms govern any information submitted after leaving this reference, including an entry made through a sponsored-result provider.
Service Providers
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for the service. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it and otherwise only as needed to operate the service.
Safeguards and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. No user account, password, or resident profile is created by the reference.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent us information so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website keeps. North Carolina’s Identity Theft Protection Act addresses security freezes and breach notices, but the reviewed law did not establish a general public-record deletion route. Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally involves the contact mailbox and server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. A record held by a North Carolina city, county, or state custodian must be addressed to that office.
Policy Changes
A revised policy will appear here. Continued use after publication of a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
